Cinzia De Mola, mezzosoprano – contralto
Cinzia De Mola made her debut as the lead at La Fenice in Venice at the age of 12, performing as Flora in The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten, under the direction of Maestro E. Gracis. The production was reprised when she was 14 at the Teatro Sociale in Como. At 15, she starred in Der Jasager by Bertolt Brecht/Kurt Weill at the Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo, directed by B. Campanella. The production was later revived in Como, Brescia, and Milan.
She has sung under the baton of conductors such as G. Gavazzeni, R. Muti, R. Chailly, D. Oren, M. Arena, B. Campanella, G. Gelmetti, N. Santi, Z. Peskó, Myung-Whun Chung, D. Gatti, and others.
She has worked with stage directors such as H. de Ana, F. Zeffirelli, G. Vick, L. Ronconi, G. Del Monaco, and others.
Since 2008, she held the position of professor at the G. Tartini Conservatory in Trieste, following an international career of over 46 years on major opera stages.
In 1989, she won the International Carlo Coccia Competition in Novara for the role of Beppe in L’Amico Fritz by P. Mascagni. The following year, in Cosenza, she was awarded first prize at the International Rendano Competition for her portrayal of Suzuki in Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini, under a jury presided over by soprano Magda Olivero. In 1991, she reprised the same role alongside Raina Kabaivanska, conducted by Maestro Daniel Oren, at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania.
In 1990, she made her debut in the title role of Carmen by Bizet in Novara: “… not only demonstrating a powerful voice, but also showing excellent stage presence…”
